Fake social media reports of a Kamra base incident are dismissed as disinformation by International sources.

ISLAMABAD / DUBAI - A flurry of Fake reports alleging the crash of two Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets near PAF Base Minhas in Kamra on Sunday has been identified by analysts and Pakistani officials as a coordinated disinformation campaign, allegedly originating from International sources.

The false reports emerged shortly after the Indian-made Tejas fighter jet experienced a technical malfunction and aborted a landing during a demonstration at the Dubai Airshow, an event witnessed by international media and aviation experts.

The alleged PAF incident narrative was chaotic from the outset. Some social media posts claimed two J-10C jets crashed during a training exercise, describing debris in farmland. More outlandish accounts, lacking any credible evidence, bizarrely alleged that "Taliban fighters" had shot down an F-16 and a J-10. No credible visuals, official sources, or local media corroborated any such event.

Pakistani defense analysts and social media users were quick to debunk the claims. They identified the images and videos being circulated as either old footage of unrelated incidents, generic pictures of firefighting exercises, or completely fabricated content. The lack of an official statement from the Pakistan Air Force, which typically addresses such incidents promptly, was also cited as a strong indicator of the story's falsity.

"This is a textbook case of projection and propaganda," said a senior security analyst, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Following a very public embarrassment of their Tejas aircraft on an international stage, certain quarters have immediately resorted to creating a false narrative about the PAF to divert attention. The timing and the clumsy nature of the fake news are highly revealing."

The Dubai Airshow incident, where the Indian Tejas jet encountered a technical snag, was widely reported by global aviation outlets. Experts suggest this visible setback may have triggered a retaliatory misinformation campaign targeting Pakistan's military reputation.
